Great list! I chose the Little House books and Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.
You had me until the Great Gatsby. Couldn't stand that book. I do love The Secret Garden though. I probably read it once a year
The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein. Every year I read it to my 2nd graders, and get weepy at the end.
Thank you for doing this. I really want them to get to that goal of 1000.
